Truthfully, the segment on feminine energy fell very short for me in terms of coming across very heteronormative, not queer-friendly, and in general upholding patriarchal standards of sexual dimorphism (as discussed further in the video). Further, the lack of Acknowledgement of Country was disappointing. Otherwise, I am so grateful for the experience and was proud to spend time with a group of amazing women. Thank you for organising!

Great location (the lake was so beautiful), delicious food (thank you Zylk!), fun activities (clothes swap, hot springs & surfing!!!!), fantastic workshops (very informative & wholesome), variety of crafts (beading, cross stitching & flower arranging). I never went on a summer camp as a kid, and this is everything I imagined it would’ve been. Thank you so much to Hazel to organising & facilitating such an amazing & unique experience. Can’t wait to come back next year!

My eldest daughter sent us a link to check out this retreat after I said that I felt disconnected from my 17 year old daughter and desperately wanted the opportunity to reconnect with her. I had no idea what to expect from the weekend, but it was brilliant! The space in which it was held was absolutely stunning, and the women who ran it were interesting, knowledgeable, so easy to talk to and fun! Thank you Hazel for the chance to reconnect with my girl, this was a priceless thing that you gifted us. And extra love to the other amazing professionals that you bought along for the ride (Amber you absolutely beautiful human, Jade you wealth of incredible knowledge, and Zilkie (spelling) who nourished us all with the most spectacular food I've ever had the pleasure of being fed for an entire weekend - not to mention all the wonderful travel stories that we shared with each other) - each of you women bought something unique and different to the table, making it a fantastic weekend with wonderful Mums and their gorgeous daughters who all got the opportunity to share a little piece of themselves with us all. We both felt very honoured.

We had such an incredible time! The food was divine, the company was beautiful and the whole weekend was an unforgettable experience. I would absolutely recommend Young Women with Purpose if you're ever wanting the chance to connect with your child and make new friends. Hazel, Amber and the rest of the YWWP team are such amazing humans. Thank you for creating this space and experiences 🤍
